ALMULX

Free tool

DNS checker

Look up the DNS records of any domain and compare the answers from Cloudflare and Google side by side. No sign-up.

Type a domain above. The answers from both resolvers appear here.

Your privacy: your browser sends these lookups directly to Cloudflare's and Google's public DNS. They do not go to Almulx, and Almulx does not see or store the domains you check.

What the records mean

  • A and AAAA point a name to a server's address, IPv4 and IPv6.
  • CNAME makes one name an alias of another.
  • MX says which servers receive email for the domain. The lower number is tried first.
  • TXT holds short notes, such as SPF and DKIM for email and ownership checks.
  • NS names the nameservers in charge of the domain.
  • CAA lists who may issue HTTPS certificates for the domain.
  • SOA holds the zone's serial number and timing settings.

Reading the comparison

Resolvers remember an answer for as long as its TTL says, in seconds. After you change a record, one resolver may still show the old value until its copy runs out. That is what people mean by DNS propagation, and seeing two resolvers side by side is a quick way to spot it.

A difference is not always a problem. Large websites give different addresses by location, so Cloudflare and Google can each be right. Two resolvers are also only two views: internet providers run their own, which this page cannot see.

Questions

Is the DNS checker free?

Yes. There is no account and no limit set by Almulx. Cloudflare and Google may slow down a browser that sends a very large number of lookups.

Why do Cloudflare and Google show different answers?

Usually one of them still remembers an older value until its TTL runs out, or the domain gives different addresses by location. If the difference is still there after the TTL has passed, check the records at your DNS provider.

What does NXDOMAIN mean?

It means the name does not exist in DNS. The domain may be unregistered, expired or mistyped, or a subdomain may simply not have been created.

Does Almulx see the domains I check?

No. Your browser sends each lookup directly to the public DNS of Cloudflare and Google. Their own privacy terms apply to those lookups.

Ready to point your domain somewhere good?

Connect a domain you already own by changing its nameservers, or register a new one, and build a WordPress website from a few questions. Connecting a domain needs an active plan.
